Garber Automotive Group Acquires Valparaiso’s Grieger’s Dealership

After six decades of operations in Northwest Indiana, Grieger’s Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram has changed hands. The storied Valparaiso dealership, previously owned by David Rodgers, was sold to the Garber Automotive Group, marking the buyer's second expansion into the Indiana market through a deal brokered by Performance Brokerage Services.

Garber Automotive Group Acquires Valparaiso’s Grieger’s Dealership

David Rodgers, who led Grieger’s Motor Sales for over two decades, decided to transition to retirement after a nearly 40-year tenure at the firm. During his leadership, the dealership secured the FCA Customer First Award for Excellence four times and maintained a strong local presence through community event sponsorships. Rodgers noted that the decision to sell was simplified by his decade-long professional relationship with the brokerage team.

The transaction represents the 26th franchised location for the Garber Automotive Group, a family-run enterprise with origins dating back to 1907. Under the stewardship of third-generation leader Dick Garber, the group has grown its footprint to include 17 franchises across six states. Paul Kechnie, Mark Shackelford, and Jason Stopnitzky of Performance Brokerage Services acted as the exclusive sell-side advisors for the deal, which continues a trend of high-volume consolidation for the firm, having managed nearly 450 dealership sales over the last five years.
