IBM zSecure Detection provides real-time monitoring of system activity, specifically designed to identify ransomware and suspicious behavioral patterns across the z/OS landscape. This addition seeks to bridge the gap between siloed infrastructure teams and security operations by offering a unified view of potential threats.

To address the administrative burden of certificate management, IBM has introduced the zSecure Secret Manager. The tool automates lifecycle processes for certificates within IBM Z and LinuxONE environments, a critical update as industry standards demand shorter certificate lifespans. Meanwhile, the IBM Z Database Assistant leverages agentic AI to help database administrators optimize performance, shifting the focus from simple data access to autonomous, intelligent data management.

These releases build on existing initiatives such as Project Glasswing and Project Lightwell, reflecting a strategy aimed at hardening core infrastructure against emerging frontier model attacks.
