The Next250 coalition, which includes organizations such as One Fair Wage and the Council on American Islamic Relations, has scheduled a mass mobilization in Washington, DC, for June 27. This gathering aims to redirect the national narrative away from the president’s self-centered agenda toward a shared vision for the future. Central to their platform is the Declaration of Interdependence, a document emphasizing that the well-being of the nation’s democracy, environment, and citizens is inextricably linked.
Organizers, including Linda Sarsour, Carmen Perez-Jordan, and Saru Jayaraman, spent years conducting town halls and listening sessions across cities like Hartford, Detroit, and New York City. These sessions highlighted a surprising consensus on universal values that transcend partisan divides. According to Sarsour, most Americans—regardless of their political affiliation—support living wages, sensible gun reform, and reproductive rights, often viewing these goals as fundamental to the health of their communities.
