Starting July 1, 2026, CVS Pharmacy will participate in the CMS Medicare GLP-1 Bridge program, capping costs for qualifying beneficiaries at $50 per month through the end of 2027. For those outside of Medicare, the company is leveraging manufacturer vouchers and discount cards to lower out-of-pocket expenses, with some commercial insurance plans seeing costs as low as $25 per month. These measures aim to tackle the financial barriers that frequently lead patients to discontinue their prescribed therapies.
Beyond pricing, the company is shifting its clinical approach to emphasize the role of local pharmacists. According to the CVS Health 2025 Rx Report, nearly half of consumers prefer personalized, in-person pharmacy interactions over digital-only alternatives. Pharmacists at CVS locations will now provide dedicated guidance on dosing and side-effect management, supported by curated in-store displays of over-the-counter products for gastrointestinal discomfort and hydration.
