Ladder Health Secures $7 Million to Shrink Pediatric Waitlists

With wait times for pediatric developmental therapy often exceeding six months, Boston-based Ladder Health has raised $7 million in an oversubscribed seed round. Led by Nina Capital, the funding aims to scale the startup’s virtual, AI-driven platform designed to connect families with specialists in days rather than months.

The company’s model shifts away from episodic, in-person clinical visits by focusing on caregiver-activated therapy. By leveraging AI to support speech, physical, and occupational sessions, the platform allows parents to continue therapeutic work at home during evenings and weekends. This approach is intended to alleviate the capacity constraints currently plaguing health systems, which struggle with workforce shortages and fragmented care delivery.

Originally incubated at 25madison and developed with clinical expertise from Boston Children’s Hospital, the startup currently operates across Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Maryland. The new capital will finance further geographic expansion and continued development of its care platform. For health systems, the company acts as a referral partner, enabling providers to extend their reach without the need for additional headcount. Investors in the round include Mairs & Power Venture Capital, South Dakota First Capital, and Hatteras Venture Partners.
