Hydra, a logistics subsidiary of Patriot Rail, has deployed its second compressed natural gas truck in Sacramento as part of an ongoing initiative to reduce fleet emissions. The expansion, supported by an $80,000 grant, marks a strategic pivot toward cleaner, more efficient freight movement across the San Joaquin Valley.
The investment was made possible through the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District’s Truck Replacement Program. Todd DeYoung, the District's Director of Incentives, noted that replacing older, high-emission vehicles provides tangible air quality improvements for the region. For Hydra, the move serves a dual purpose: meeting the growing demand for warehouse and transloading services while lowering the environmental footprint of its transportation network.
