Kennedy Jr., characterizes the site as a tool for undermining reproductive rights rather than a legitimate resource for maternal health. Lawmakers specifically targeted the site’s inclusion of anti-abortion centers alongside federally qualified health clinics, claiming the layout obscures the distinction between evidence-based medical providers and non-medical groups.

Led by Senators Elizabeth Warren, Chuck Schumer, Mazie Hirono, and Bernie Sanders, the coalition highlighted concerns regarding data privacy. They pointed to the site’s integration with the Option Line hotline, which has a history of data sharing with third-party vendors and documented security vulnerabilities. The senators argue that directing users to these services on a government-funded platform poses a significant risk to the health and privacy of millions of people.

This pushback coincides with the four-year anniversary of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization ruling, which overturned federal abortion protections. Senator Warren criticized the administration's strategy, describing it as an attempt to implement backdoor restrictions on reproductive care. The Democratic caucus is now calling for an immediate removal of these links to ensure the website serves as a neutral informational portal rather than a vehicle for political advocacy.
