The rebranding signifies a shift in corporate alignment rather than a change in day-to-day management. Ownership, staffing, and existing product offerings remain unchanged at the 9400 Baltimore Avenue location. By integrating the dealership into the broader Group 1 platform, the company aims to provide customers in Prince George’s County with access to the resources and technology of an international retailer while preserving the established local service team.

College Park Hyundai Rebrands as Group 1 Hyundai College Park
College Park Hyundai has officially shed its former branding to adopt the Group 1 Hyundai College Park name. The change, effective June 2, 2026, marks a strategic effort by Houston-based Group 1 Automotive to unify its retail network under a consistent national identity while maintaining local operations.

David Gruner III, General Manager of the dealership, noted that the transition is intended to provide a more consistent and transparent experience for drivers in College Park, Hyattsville, and Greenbelt. The facility continues to offer its full suite of services, including new and pre-owned vehicle sales, financing, and maintenance support. This move follows a company-wide initiative by Group 1 Automotive—which currently manages 250 dealerships across the U.S. and U.K.—to streamline its brand presence and help customers more easily identify locations within its extensive automotive network.
