Her career, spanning over three decades, bridges the gap between rigorous academic research and the practical application of faith-based principles to contemporary societal challenges.

Dr. Iozzio’s academic trajectory began at Penn State University with a degree in history, eventually leading to a doctorate in moral theology from Fordham University in 1994. Her expertise covers a broad spectrum, including disability theology and biblical studies. She currently maintains active memberships in the Society of Christian Ethics, the American Academy of Religion, and the Catholic Theological Society of America, ensuring her presence remains central to ongoing scholarly discourse.

Recognition for her contributions has accelerated in recent years. Beyond the 2026 Distinguished Worldwide Humanitarian Award, her professional profile grew through her participation in the Boston College delegation to the 2021 UN Climate Change Conference (COP26). She also received the Eagle Publication Essay Award in 2025 and was named among the Top 500 Most Influential Professionals that same year. As she looks toward the future, Dr. Iozzio intends to shift her focus toward consulting and academic advisory services, continuing to integrate ethical inquiry into broader public and institutional frameworks.
