Bank of America Adds Knockout Stage Beads to Viral World Cup Fan Bands

With over 700,000 bracelets already in circulation, Bank of America is expanding its FIFA World Cup 2026 fan engagement effort. As the tournament shifts into the high-stakes knockout rounds, the bank is introducing a new set of collectible beads specific to the final host cities and match stages.

The custom beads, designed to reflect the energy and culture of individual host markets, will be available at stadium experiences and fan festivals as the competition progresses toward the final in New York/New Jersey. David Tyrie, the bank’s president of marketing and digital solutions, described the response to the initial collection as unprecedented, noting that the new designs are intended to sustain momentum as the tournament intensifies.

To manage the surging demand, Bank of America is implementing a wristband-based reservation system at its FIFA Fan Festival activations. This allows attendees to secure a specific time slot, enabling them to explore the festival grounds without waiting in long queues. This system will also be in place at the NYNJ World Cup 26 & Telemundo Fan Village at Rockefeller Center, which opens on July 6 and remains active through the final match on July 19. The bank plans to distribute over 10 million beads and 2 million bracelets total by the end of the tournament.
