Researchers at the Family Care Center TMS Center of Excellence evaluated 33 patients, finding that 42% reached clinical remission. The protocol, which combines standard 10Hz stimulation with a brief intermittent theta burst sequence to the right side of the brain, adds only three minutes to traditional sessions. This efficiency allows for seamless integration into existing clinical workflows without requiring specialized equipment.

New TMS Protocol Shows Promise for Treatment-Resistant Youth Depression
A peer-reviewed study published in the journal Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation reveals that a sequential bilateral TMS protocol achieved a 70% response rate in adolescents and young adults. The intervention not only improved depressive symptoms but also demonstrated significant success in reducing suicidal ideation among a vulnerable patient cohort.

Beyond statistical mood improvements, the study highlighted functional gains. Approximately 63.6% of participants reported better sleep, while 75.8% experienced increased social engagement. Most notably, among the 14 patients who reported suicidal ideation at the start of the study, 86% saw a reduction in symptoms, with 57% reporting complete resolution by the end of the treatment course. Dr. Chuck Weber, founder of the Family Care Center, noted that the results reflect the efficacy of a comprehensive clinical model that addresses the full burden of illness in younger populations.
