St. Regis Debuts Ultra-Luxury Resort in Costa Mujeres

A ceremonial saber strike against a champagne bottle marked the official arrival of The St. Regis Costa Mujeres Resort in Mexico. The opening, attended by high-ranking government officials and international hospitality executives, cements the brand’s expansion into the Mexican Caribbean with a property designed by Sordo Madaleno.

The project serves as a cornerstone for AB Living Group’s broader strategy to position Costa Mujeres as a top-tier destination for high-end travel. Located between the Caribbean Sea and a protected mangrove reserve, the resort features 163 guestrooms and 86 private branded residences. During the ribbon-cutting event, CEO Alfredo Bataller described the property as the realization of a long-term vision to bring sophisticated, exclusive hospitality to the region.

General Manager Idu Ribeiro emphasized that the resort intends to lean heavily on the brand’s signature butler service and local cultural integration. The property offers nine distinct dining venues and over 12,000 square feet of event space, including the Astor Ballroom. By situating the resort near the El Meco archaeological site and the Mesoamerican Reef, developers aim to blend Mayan-inspired design with the high-standard service expected of the St. Regis portfolio. This launch follows a period of significant investment intended to bolster the local economy and job market in the state of Quintana Roo.
