VITAS Healthcare Elevates Bryan Wysong to Chief Operations Officer

Wysong steps into the executive vice president and COO position following a decade of rising responsibility within the Miramar-based organization. His trajectory began in 2014 as an internal management consultant, eventually leading him to oversee high acuity services and operational performance. CEO Joel Wherley credited Wysong’s promotion to his consistent focus on clinical excellence and a leadership style that balances administrative growth with the demands of end-of-life care.

As COO, Wysong will manage the company's daily operations for more than 23,000 patients. His mandate includes coordinating care delivery across 60 service areas while maintaining the standards that earned VITAS a 2026 Top Workplace designation. Beyond his internal duties, Wysong maintains active involvement in industry advocacy, serving on Quality and Standards and Government Affairs committees for the National Alliance for Care at Home. He holds an executive MBA from the University of Michigan and undergraduate degrees from The Ohio State University.
