Coca-Cola Halts fairlife Production Following Ransomware Attack

A ransomware attack has forced Coca-Cola to temporarily suspend U.S. production at its fairlife dairy unit after hackers gained unauthorized access to internal systems. The company confirmed that while production networks were breached, the safety and quality of the lactose-free milk and protein shakes currently on the market remain uncompromised.

Operations at the company's Canadian facilities continue as normal, unaffected by the digital intrusion. In a securities filing, Coca-Cola disclosed that it is still evaluating the long-term implications of the breach, noting that a material impact on the company remains uncertain at this stage.

This disruption hits as the beverage giant pursues an aggressive growth strategy for the brand. Coca-Cola, which took full control of fairlife in 2020 after buying out partner Select Milk Producers, announced plans in March to invest $650 million into expanding its production capacity in Coopersville, Michigan.
