Harbour BioMed and Sinopharm Forge Biologics R&D Consortium

Harbour BioMed and China National Pharmaceutical Group, known as Sinopharm, have launched a strategic innovation consortium to accelerate the development of biologics. The partnership combines Harbour BioMed’s proprietary antibody technology with Sinopharm’s massive manufacturing and commercial distribution network to target oncology and immune-mediated inflammatory diseases.

Under the agreement, the two companies will share the costs and rights of new therapeutic candidates. Harbour BioMed will provide its Harbour Mice® platform—which generates fully human monoclonal antibodies—alongside its AI-enabled drug discovery tools to identify and optimize new drug candidates. Sinopharm will handle the clinical development phase, large-scale production, and eventual commercialization.

Dr. Jingsong Wang, CEO of Harbour BioMed, stated that the collaboration marks a significant progression in the company’s platform-based strategy. For Sinopharm, the deal serves as an effort to integrate independent innovation with industry-wide capabilities. By leveraging these combined resources, the consortium aims to bring high-quality, affordable treatments to market more efficiently than either firm could achieve independently.
