International Tower Hill Mines Overhauls Leadership for Livengood

International Tower Hill Mines is ushering in a new executive era, appointing David Wiens as CEO and Shane Parrow as President and COO to steer the massive Livengood Gold Project toward production. The transition signals a strategic pivot toward finalizing feasibility studies and securing development capital for the Alaska-based asset.

International Tower Hill Mines Overhauls Leadership for Livengood

David Wiens, formerly of Asante Gold, steps into the CEO role on August 17, bringing two decades of mining finance expertise to the Vancouver-based firm. He plans to signal his commitment to the project by purchasing $200,000 worth of company common shares. Joining him is Shane Parrow, a veteran of Kinross Alaska, whose recent track record includes the successful, on-budget delivery of the Manh Choh project. Parrow will oversee the operational and engineering challenges of the site, which holds an estimated 13.6 million ounces of gold.

Outgoing CEO Karl Hanneman will remain on the board as a strategic advisor, ensuring continuity as the company navigates the permitting and financing phases. The leadership shift comes as the firm looks to capitalize on Livengood’s status as one of the largest undeveloped gold deposits in the United States. To retain the new executive team, the company has approved the grant of restricted share units, valued at $1.65 million for Wiens and 312,500 units for Parrow, vesting over three years.
