Quebecor Reports Revenue Growth Amid Strategic Telecom Expansion

Quebecor Inc. reported a solid second quarter for 2026, with consolidated revenues climbing 4.3% to $1.44 billion. The company’s performance was anchored by its telecommunications segment, which saw steady gains in mobile subscribers and internet service revenue, alongside a significant profitability rebound within its media division.

The corporation’s adjusted EBITDA reached $627.4 million, a 3.7% increase over the same period last year. This growth persisted despite a $39.5 million headwind from stock-based compensation expenses tied to the company's rising share price. Net income attributable to shareholders rose by $53.2 million, hitting $270.9 million, or $1.21 per basic share.

Driving these results, the telecommunications arm added 53,200 mobile subscriber connections, while average monthly revenue per user grew by 2.5%. Quebecor also expanded its technological footprint by increasing its stake in Etiya, a Turkey-based software firm, to 70%. This move aims to accelerate the deployment of AI-powered business support systems across the company’s Videotron, Freedom, and Fizz brands.

Media operations also provided a boost, as TVA Group reported adjusted EBITDA of $23.3 million—a sharp $21.6 million improvement year-over-year—largely fueled by strong viewership for NHL playoffs and sports programming. On the capital front, the board approved a 12.5% increase in the quarterly dividend to $0.45 per share, citing a disciplined approach to debt reduction and a stable leverage ratio of 2.87x.
