Commercial Property Sales Surge 30% Despite Economic Headwinds
Commercial real estate transactions valued at $25 million or more climbed to $164 billion in the first half of 2026, marking a 29.9% increase over the same period last year. Despite persistent global volatility and elevated Treasury yields, investors are signaling a renewed appetite for large-scale property acquisitions.

Brokered trades outperformed the broader market, with sell-side advisor transactions jumping 39.3%. Managing editor Rich Quinn noted that investment professionals are balancing concerns over employment growth and interest rates against a fundamental belief in market stability. This "risk-on" sentiment suggests that current macroeconomic pressures have not yet stifled the upward momentum established over the past two years.
