The eGovernance Agency opened the EVO integration platform to private and public organizations on April 1, 2026. This move marks a pivot toward making secure digital identity a standard for daily interactions. Beyond the initial four banks, 30 other entities—including the National Bank of Moldova and major telecommunications providers—are currently in the process of connecting to the ecosystem. At least 20 organizations are projected to be fully operational by the end of the year.

Moldova Integrates EVO Digital Credentials into Banking Sector
Customers at Moldindconbank, FinComBank, EuroCreditBank, and Victoriabank can now verify their identity using the EVO government app. By scanning a QR code, users share verified data directly with the institution, bypassing the need for physical photocopies and manual entry as the country aligns with European digital identity standards.
Nicoleta Colomeeț, Director of the Moldova eGovernance Agency, emphasized that the true value of digital credentials lies in their ubiquity. By embedding the app into banking, the agency is establishing a foundation for broader adoption. This infrastructure is specifically designed to be compatible with the European Digital Identity Wallet framework. As an EU candidate, Moldova is actively participating in the WE BUILD consortium, conducting cross-border interoperability tests with partners from France, Hungary, Austria, and Belgium to ensure its digital ID and driving license formats meet international requirements.
