Chubb Appoints Sean Ringsted as Chief Scientist

Ringsted brings over thirty years of tenure to the position, having navigated roles ranging from Chief Actuary to Chief Risk Officer. During his time as Chief Digital Business Officer, he established and scaled the firm’s digital business unit, embedding data-driven decision-making into the company's core operations. Chairman and CEO Evan Greenberg cited this promotion as a strategic necessity, emphasizing that Ringsted’s background uniquely qualifies him to bridge the gap between complex actuarial science and emerging AI technologies.

His career at Chubb and its predecessor, ACE Group, includes significant leadership stints in risk management and digital transformation. Beyond his corporate experience, Ringsted holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in Biochemistry from Oxford University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries. He will continue to report to the senior executive team as the company seeks to integrate advanced analytics deeper into its global insurance and reinsurance underwriting processes.
