Pinterest launches AI-powered room redesign tool

Pinterest is bridging the gap between digital inspiration and physical renovation with the launch of Restyle, a generative AI tool now in beta for users in the U.S. and Canada. The feature allows homeowners to visualize new furniture, lighting, and decor directly within their own living spaces through uploaded photos.

Pinterest launches AI-powered room redesign tool

Powered by the company’s new Pinterest Intelligence engine, the tool leverages Nvidia Blackwell GPUs and Dynamo architecture to process complex visual requests. Users can prompt the AI to insert specific items found on the platform into their rooms or transform entire aesthetics by selecting styles like bohemian, industrial, or dopamine decor. Beyond simple overlays, the interface enables precise edits, allowing individuals to swap out furniture, erase unwanted objects, or adjust paint colors with a few taps.

While AI-driven interior design tools have appeared elsewhere, integrating this functionality into Pinterest transforms the platform from a static mood board into a functional shopping funnel. By enabling users to preview saved items in their actual homes, the company aims to convert passive inspiration into concrete purchase decisions. The feature debuted at the annual Pinterest Presents event alongside a suite of new advertising tools and is scheduled for a wider rollout next month.
