Energy Corps has selected four new grantees to bridge the gap between energy poverty and prosperity, targeting regions from East Africa to American Tribal lands. By prioritizing local leadership over top-down mandates, the nonprofit aims to scale practical solutions ranging from electric cooking infrastructure to AI-driven resource governance.
In the United States, Tribal Energy Alternatives is securing capital for shovel-ready solar installations on Tribal lands, a move projected to slash household energy costs by up to 90 percent. Rounding out the cohort, New Producers for Sustainable Energy is deploying AI-enabled governance tools across 25 countries. These tools, including a greenhouse-gas dashboard and an expert advisory desk, are designed to bolster national oversight of methane emissions and energy data security. According to Tisha Schuller, head of Energy Corps, these partnerships prove that sustainable change is driven by individuals on the ground rather than resolutions made in conference rooms.
