Marco's Pizza Partners with APU to Offer Tuition Grants to Employees

More than 18,000 employees, franchisees, and their family members now have access to discounted higher education through a new partnership between Marco’s Pizza and the American Public University System. The collaboration aims to bridge the gap between fast-paced retail work and professional development through flexible, online academic programs.

Marco's Pizza Partners with APU to Offer Tuition Grants to Employees

The initiative offers a 15% tuition grant across more than 200 degree and certificate programs. Designed specifically for working adults, the curriculum at American Public University (APU) and American Military University (AMU) features monthly start dates and asynchronous learning, allowing students to balance academic requirements with their shifts at any of the 1,200 Marco’s Pizza locations across 35 states.

Eric Morris, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at APU, noted that the program targets professionals seeking to build critical thinking and digital literacy skills. The partnership was spearheaded by Marco’s senior leaders Rod Sanders and Kelly Robinson, both of whom are alumni of the university system. They view the benefit as a vital tool for retention and personal growth within the brand’s workforce. Detailed information regarding enrollment and program eligibility is available through the university’s dedicated partner portal.
