United Food Group Targets Market Expansion with New Dispensing Technology

United Food Group is scaling its beverage equipment platform across U.S. and international markets, shifting focus from liquid-based systems to shelf-stable soluble products. The Elgin-based manufacturer aims to replace traditional bag-in-box dispensers with versatile machinery designed to cut logistics costs and reduce waste for commercial clients.

United Food Group Targets Market Expansion with New Dispensing Technology

The company spent three years developing this equipment line, which features customizable dispensers capable of handling products like instant cappuccinos, micro-ground coffee, and hot cocoa. According to President Bryan Real, the shift to soluble products with a two-year shelf life offers significant overhead savings, including reduced freight and storage expenses. The machines are built for rapid conversion, allowing operators to switch between beverage types—such as changing a liquid-cream dispenser into a latte machine—within minutes.

Beyond proprietary technology, UFG is leveraging a partnership with global manufacturer Dr. Coffee to integrate specialized bean-to-cup systems into its portfolio. Head of Engineering Bob Long noted that the latest units emphasize digital customization and durability for high-demand environments. As the firm prepares for an aggressive growth phase in 2027, Vice President of Business Development Doug Shea plans to align these hardware offerings more closely with regional coffee brands and national distributors to capture additional market share in the food service and office coffee sectors.
