DoGo Power Debuts Grid-Forming Storage Units for Global Markets

Shanghai-based DoGo Power has launched a new portfolio of grid-forming energy storage systems tailored for commercial, industrial, and utility-scale deployments. By integrating EMS, PMS, BMS, and PCS into a single platform, the company aims to bypass traditional installation hurdles while meeting increasingly strict grid-code requirements for immediate global shipment.

DoGo Power Debuts Grid-Forming Storage Units for Global Markets

The flagship 10-foot container for commercial and industrial use packs 1.672 MWh of capacity, replacing the need for multiple disparate units and isolation transformers. This consolidated design shrinks the physical footprint by 35% and trims initial capital expenditures by 1.2 US-cents per watt-hour. Field labor costs drop alongside project timelines, which are shortened by nearly a week thanks to the self-contained microgrid architecture that handles islanded switching in under 20 milliseconds.

For utility-scale projects, the system emphasizes mobility and scalability. Each unit weighs under 22 tonnes, allowing two containers to fit within the footprint of a standard 20-foot shipping container to reduce ocean freight costs. The hardware also features a Dynamic C-Rate Architecture, giving operators the flexibility to start with a 2-hour baseline and add expansion cabinets as requirements evolve.

Demonstrating these capabilities in the field, DoGo Power recently finished an off-grid PV-ESS microgrid in Pagerungan Kecil, Indonesia. The installation replaced high-cost, unstable power for 3,000 residents, slashing local electricity costs by 81%. Over its projected lifespan, the system is expected to provide 26 million kWh of stable power while preventing 22,000 tonnes of carbon-dioxide emissions.
