Trump’s Oil Portfolio Climbs to $81.6 Million Amid Iran War Price Hikes

As President Donald Trump dismissed voter frustration over fuel costs this weekend, declaring he does not care about the financial pain caused by his military campaign against Iran, a new congressional report reveals his personal oil and gas stock holdings have surged to an estimated $81.6 million.

Trump’s Oil Portfolio Climbs to $81.6 Million Amid Iran War Price Hikes

The Joint Economic Committee report highlights a sharp contrast between the president's rhetoric and the reality for U.S. households. Since the conflict began eight months ago, American families have paid an additional $101 billion for gasoline, averaging $856 per household. In states like Wyoming, the financial burden is even more pronounced, with costs climbing by $1,454 per family.

Democratic lawmakers point to a clear alignment between the president's policy and his investment growth. The report notes that 94% of Trump’s 2026 industry stock acquisitions were made after the conflict in Iran restricted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, driving up global energy prices. Trump currently holds shares in firms including Chevron, ExxonMobil, and ConocoPhillips. Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) criticized the administration, arguing that the president continues to prioritize his personal wealth over the economic stability of the public. While the White House maintains that the president’s portfolio is managed by independent third parties, the timing and scale of these gains have intensified scrutiny of his financial ties to the fossil fuel sector ahead of the midterm elections.
