Revolut Valuation Hits $115 Billion in Secondary Share Sale

A secondary share sale has pushed Revolut’s valuation to $115 billion, a 53% increase from its previous mark. While the transaction brought no fresh capital into the London-based fintech, it underscores investor confidence as the company accelerates its global expansion and prepares for a potential U.S. bank launch in 2027.

Revolut Valuation Hits $115 Billion in Secondary Share Sale

The sale, led by firms including Glade Brook Capital Partners, Coatue, and T. Rowe Price Associates, reflects the company's aggressive growth trajectory. Since its founding in 2015 by Nik Storonsky and Vlad Yatsenko, Revolut has evolved from a simple money-transfer app into a massive financial platform serving 80 million retail customers across 40 countries. Recent moves include securing banking licenses in France, Colombia, and Argentina, alongside the launch of operations in the U.K., Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand.

Profitability has become a core feature of the firm’s recent performance, with 2025 revenue hitting $6 billion at a 38% margin. Much of this momentum is driven by the business banking division. Launched in 2017, this arm now accounts for 20% of gross profit and processes over $48.6 billion in monthly transactions globally. James Gibson, head of Revolut Business, confirmed plans to expand these services into Brazil, Mexico, and India, aiming to grow the business client base to one million by 2027.

Revolut is also navigating the path toward a public listing. While an IPO could potentially push the company's market value toward $200 billion, leadership has suggested such a move would not occur before 2028. For now, the focus remains on securing final regulatory approval for its U.S. national bank, a pivotal step in its ongoing bid to dominate the international financial services landscape.
