ISTE+ASCD Rebrands as International Society for Transforming Education

CEO Richard Culatta and Board President Jeremy Owoh unveiled the new identity during the opening keynote of the combined ISTELive and ASCD Annual Conference. The rebranding marks the conclusion of a three-year integration period following the 2023 merger of the two legacy organizations. According to leadership, the name change is not a pivot in strategy but a clearer articulation of a mission already underway: moving beyond mere technology adoption to create personalized, purposeful learning experiences.

The organization, which now supports over 80,000 educators across 85 countries, intends to keep all core operations intact. Membership programs, ISTE Standards, professional certifications, and existing publications will continue under the new banner without disruption. The group remains committed to its Transformational Learning Principles, a shared framework designed to ensure that classroom instruction remains responsive to student identity and future-ready skills. By positioning technology as one of several levers for improvement, the organization aims to solidify its role in guiding instructional leaders through an increasingly complex educational landscape.
